Poetry: #124 Extended (Hesitate and Grasp 16)
A selection from the collection: Hesitate and Grasp
Preface
The struggle is real. The battles of relationships, society, and personal challenges are real. This collection explores all that and concludes pretty concisely:
“Do not hesitate. Do not grasp.”
Or, as Yoda might say in a much clearer way:
“Do or do not, there is no try.”
Extended
There’s more to these mountains, more than these walls The hunger you crave is not just of fate, but of some other call And the past will be stagnate the future unsure, yet still they will love There is only one power only one brick; one might have forged in a fire There is only one moment only one chance, the time it takes to move and come To live with the other the cancer of heart, the one that I certainly desire And in the end is there some extended thought? Where will I go if there is more to be taught? How far must I travel where must I go? Who should I look to and who shall I mark? Has my existence extended beyond? Will you follow this path and be fond? Can you answer or will you falter? There are more to these questions, more than these walls The hunger you crave is not just of fate, but of some other call And the past will be stagnate the future unsure, and still they love! How far must I travel and where must I go? Who should I look to and who shall I mark? Will you follow this path and be fond? Is there another to whom you have bonds? Has my existence served and love is gone? Will there not be a branding a kissing toe? Must I wait forever to make a final talk? Should we end in the battle we once fought? Let’s just call it good and leave without foe
Question Section
To be frank, I’m not sure where I was originally going with this poem. There’s more to life than one thing or another, and we shouldn’t spend all our time pursuing any singular thing. Neither should we pursue the Jack of All Trades approach. Duality at its finest. The questions are thus: when do you know it’s time to end one line of thought or another? When do you know when it’s wiser to continue down a certain path? When do you know you’ve wasted time or have found better uses of your time? Let us know your answers in the comments below, sharing your wisdom or input so we might all benefit.
